This track is the original theme track for the stage-play, "Splashdown John Glenn (An Aviator's Odyssey into Outer-Space as the World stopped to Watch Him)".

It tells the story (in song) of the pioneering flight on 20 February 1962 - in Glenn's titanium space-capsule, Friendship 7.

John Glenn (1921-1916) became a distinguished US senator and was a member of the Order of Daedalians. He championed the promulgation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Act (1978). The legislation was one of his pen-ultimate contributions to humanity.
